This is poem is such beautiful, helpful reclaiming of the notion of “goal.” Thich Nat Hanh’s work is such a well for me to draw from—especially in these fraught times in the world. This poem also reminds me of Frederick Buechner’s understanding of vocation: “where our deep gladness meets the world's deep need.”

Thank you Claire. Thich Nat Hanh’s simple, direct wisdom often guides me, too. And I appreciate your sharing the Buechner quote. I am unfamiliar and will now burrow into it!

And I think gift discovery, unwrapping and giving away depends so much on community, good voices, room to grow 🤍

Good morning Kim! Your post really speaks to me. I have been on a pathway, determined to evolve into the most fundamental and realest version of my most mindful self, before I leave the earth in my current form. Your post speaks to that calling with clarity and beauty. Our culture is very loud and distracting. It is easy to take detours, and waste energy on distractions. I am happy to be greeted this morning with this intent.
