I walk familiar paths,
enthralled
by this ever-yet-never-the-same
place.
Approaching creatures here,
presents a choice:
Avoid their space or with intention,
grace,
pass gently through —
invisibly, powerfully
connecting
mindfully, reverently,
respecting.
You’d be surprised,
my friend, to see
who does not flee.

Neil Barker, at Meditations on Nature, inspired this piece.
Beautiful, Kim. Love these photos, as well. Yours and Neil’s poems make a wonderful diptych.
Oh wow what a mesmerizing poem, Kim. It feels so gentle, curious and wise. Such an invitation into aliveness. I really love it 🥺🤍
