I grow restless, ready to move
find a new vista, new house, new groove
I want a forest, I have a beach
I want great views, I have everything I need
I grow dissatisfied (an uncomfortable truth)
just look at my history - it’s all there -it’s proof
The grasping for more is real.
This time
the move must be internal
the journey, within
a trip to discover
what pushes me to begin
again and again and again.
Find the root of the wanting,
what’s to me, deficiency
Find a way to believe
I’m enough.
This time I pledge
to resist the siren song
Move inward instead
( journey might be long )
but I
commit
to
contentment.
I’d love to hear from you!

Committing to contentment is the principle I’m organizing my life around. Lovely poem!
I love the openness of this poem, and how it addresses the question whether the grass really is greener in the neighbour's garden.
Great writing.
